This workshop is using fascia and yin techniques to give you choice of how to stretch safely and clear scar tissue, get more flexibility and more strength. Day One will focus on the upper body.
How does it work? Fascia stretching is opposite of traditional stretching as it is active, not passive. In traditional stretching, the muscle is lengthened until a stretch is felt and then pushed “a little bit farther” with the risk to go too far…Fascia stretching is safer stretching as we don’t need to push the muscles to the full range of motion.
The basic fascia stretching equation:
Shorten the area you are stretching.
Add compression by activating or contracting the shortened muscle or area.
Move in the opposite direction.
And that is it!
What takes time is to get the movement as it is conter intuitive at first but you will be able to recognise the effects right away and know what are the specific postures your body need the most.
